If you think this country is going down the toilet, you are wrong.
Why do I say that?
People care.
They care about their family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and strangers.
A recent fire in a rural small town in Iroquois COunty, Illinois, reminded me of that on Wednesday.
Firefighters and emergency services personnel raced to the scene.
A raging fire with winds whipping up to 30 and 40 mph gusts was a recipe for disaster.
These people faced the enemy and punched its lights out.
Along the way there were community members and businesses that supplied water and food to these men and women who volunteer to risk their lives for their neighbors and strangers.
Even big corporate business chips in with a huge supply of bottled water.
Bystanders watch them work.and are thankful no one was injured.
In times of crisis, small or big, we are lifted up by others.
On this day, there were many heroes.
It is like that every day.
