High school graduation season is upon us.
It is winding down here in my area.
I attended a a graduation party for a young lady on Saturday.
I have watched her grow up.
Always has been respectful, enjoys talking with adults and is very bright.
One Christmas, she made ornaments for everyone's trees. They were works of art on paper.
More than a decade later, that ornament is hung on the tree. I think back to that day she handed them out.
She has always been wise beyond her years.
She may get that from her very sweet, generous and humble parents.
I watched as she worked her way around the guests at her party. She is quite the people person.
I wish her well on the next part of the journey, college.
High school graduation is like the moment a mother bird pushes the maturing babies out of the nests. Time to test the wings.
Time to build up the strength.
Time to prepare for going away but still knowing where the nest is located.
Four years from now, the journey will become the adventure of a world that has been waiting for you.
For this moment.
For you to take your candle and light the world.
Always remember you are never alone.
Besides the smartphone to stay in touch with your parents, you have family and friends cheering for you.
Time to spread those wings.
