Looking back on the things that I remember about Christmas as a child.
Mom's chocolate chip cookies.
That 4-foot artificial tree that sat atop a card table that had chimney paper wrapped around it.
The paper mache Santa Claus face that hung on the front door.
The choir singer (a Reader's Digest for the body, Styrofoam ball for a head with yellow yarn for hair).
Peanut butter Scotty dog cookies that were made by the cookie press.
Dad bringing home presents of food he received from the people on his letter carrier route.
A small plastic church lit.
Stockings placed on the book case.
A juice great decorations on the tree made or given as gifts.
Sitting in the living room lit only by the big GE Cool Bright bulbs of the Christmas tree.
