Loving you

"When you love someone, you want them to be happy way more then you want yourself happy. That's love."

I was chatting with a wise person last night. The above quote comes from this person, who I admire.

She was able to live this out for many years.

Her spouse died a few years ago. It has taken a lot of time to rebound and mourn.

There is no real timeline for a person to mourn the loss of a love one.

The woman has started mending fences with friends. It is hard for her to understand why some of the people closest to her were the ones she pushed away, or in fact blamed.

Maybe they have been in need of a shoulder to cry on or an ear to bend.

Maybe it was because she just stopped living.

Now she has a zest to live life to the fullest.

Now there are many words of wisdom. She has seen the light and is out of the dark.

On a journey of self discovery, her words and lessons are wonderful things. These do not make the hurt go away, but help us learn how to come to terms.

We must not forget those near and dear to us. They are important when it comes to crunch time.
Love is a wonderful thing.

Loving someone more than yourself, that is true love.
